		25-Apr-04   day of silence? has anyone heard of the day of silence protest, meant to acknowledge the voices of glbt people on college campuses?  what are we doing to ourselves?  day of silence? fuck silence! i've been silent for 21 years! i'm not going to be silent for even one more day!  put me in the front of the classroom with a megaphone! day of screaming! you want to create visability when you're being quiet? are we using this method so our closeted family members can participate?  how about we silence some straight white guys for a day? that sounds like a good protest to me. that way, we'll be able to hear all kinds of voices we don't normally hear. give the white guys the duct tape to put on their mouths.  tell their asses to shut the hell up for a day -- not me.  day of silence...fuck silence. scream your head off.  maybe then someone will acknowlege you.
